Because Humanity
Because Atlanta
Established in 1988, Status: Home is the oldest and largest provider of permanent housing, holistic support, and empowerment for Atlanta’s low-income and homeless individuals and families impacted by HIV/AIDS.
We believe that people impacted by HIV/AIDS deserve to more than simply survive, but to fully live as neighbors and thriving community members in the beloved city that we all call home, Atlanta.
Housing is Healthcare
Home is a bright light when all is dark
The CDC has compared the impact of HIV/AIDS in Atlanta to that of a developing country. In Georgia, the risk of diagnosis is a staggering 1 in 51 and Georgia has one of the highest HIV rates for adults and adolescents in the United States.
Status: Home provides housing that results in improved health outcomes with the majority of people living with HIV/AIDS. Our housing delivers an umbrella of care—long-term housing, healthcare resources, and supportive services—so people can live fully, find freedom, and experience their futures.

Success Stories: Meet Larry
Status: Home became his saving grace
Larry entered the Program for Adults very ill – not knowing it would become his saving grace. With access to modern medications, Larry’s health stabilized. He transitioned to independent housing and today owns a thriving pet-sitting business. Larry served on the Status: Home Board of Directors, and advocates in the community for individuals living with HIV/AIDS.
