From One Into Hundreds of Homes in Atlanta
Discover our history and evolution over 35 years
What is today Status: Home originated as Jerusalem House, and began in 1988 as a coalition of Atlanta’s business, religious, civic, and medical community leaders who conceptualized a residential facility for the growing number of people who’d lost their homes due to AIDS. In 1989, Status: Home was one house that could serve five individuals with HIV/AIDS.
Today, with nearly 250 housing units and counting, we provide homes for almost 300 residents, including nearly 100 children, and we’re responsible for more than 70% of Atlanta’s permanent supportive housing for individuals and families impacted by HIV/AIDS.
